FBC Online - Vacation Bible School

VBS 2008, OUTRIGGER ISLAND, was a great time for all who attended.

We registered 201 children with an attendance of 169!

We also had over 40 who volunteered as teachers and workers.

Children learned to know, speak, and live God's truth!

Boomerang Express

With the Boomerang Express: It All Comes Back to Jesus, VBS participants "visit" Australia, the great Down Under. While exploring the ocean and outback, rocks and reefs, kids will travel across Australia and learn that no matter where you go or what you do, the most important thing in life is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Kids will stay on track as they discover the ever-changing landscape of Peter’s relationship with Jesus from his first introduction to a life fully committed to Christ.

All five Bible studies involve a relationship with Jesus Christ through snapshots of the life of Peter. It is the first time a VBS curriculum allows for a character study of one person. But through the life of Peter we see that truly it all comes back to Jesus!

The VBS Scripture is 1 John 4:9

"God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him."

The motto is "Follow! Worship! Live through Him!"

During the week, the VBS kids will be called KIDAROOS. The teachers are the OUTBACK GUIDES. Each day is called a TRACK. Our daily challenge is called the BOOMARANG CHALLANGE.

Many people do not realize how expansive Australia is and how much variety exists. We will "travel by train" on the Boomerang Express into our Down Under VBS. Kidaroos and Outback Guides will explore the many diverse regions Australia has to offer. The worship rally takes place in the train station. From there Kidaroos hop on the Boomerang Express and travel to different destinations throughout the country.

The daily Bible study outlines for children are:

-- Track 1 – It All Comes Back to Jesus: Follow Him (Peter’s invitation)

-- Track 2 – It All Comes Back to Jesus: Worship Him (Peter’s discovery)

-- Track 3 – It All Comes Back to Jesus: Confess Him (Peter’s challenge)

-- Track 4 – It All Comes Back to Jesus: Serve Him (Peter’s mission)

-- Track 5 – It All Comes Back to Jesus: Obey Him (Peter’s obedience)

Boomerang Express offers a full range of the VBS experience: a 3-hour daily schedule for five days; a worship rally, Bible studies, crafts, recreation, snack, missions and music rotations and a whole lot of fun!
